What is a Farm Crawl?
We’re glad you asked!
Spend a day exploring
Visit Oconee County’s finest local farms and homesteads connecting with the people who grow your food, raise animals, and steward the land you love.
You will meet at one of three local check in locations (Salem, Walhalla and Westminster) on Saturday, September 20th between 8:30am-9:30am.
The Farm Crawl is a self-directed event where the participants drive themselves from farm to farm. You choose what farms to visit and in what order. You also choose how much time to spend at each farm.
You will receive a map and descriptions of each farm when you check in.
Each farm or homestead will have their own activities to offer on the day of the event, which may include farm products for sale, tours, Q&A’s, demos and maybe even a hayride or two.
Whether you’re a foodie, gardener, family with kids, or just someone who loves Oconee County—you’ll leave with muddy boots, full hearts, and a deeper connection to our county's rich agriculture.

Farm Etiquette
Please remember: Each farm sets its own rules. Many of these locations are not just farms, they’re also the farmers’ homes. We ask that you respect their space and their work by following a few important guidelines:
Do not open gates or cross fences! You don’t want to end up in a bull pen or feel the jolt of an electric fence!
Do not touch animals unless the farmer gives you permission.
Do not climb on tractors or equipment! This isn’t the time for a joyride (and yes, someone will stop you before you even get it started!).
Other than that, just bring a big smile and get ready for a day full of fun and discovery!

What To Bring
This fun-filled day is a rain or shine event, with most activities taking place outdoors. (We will change the date in case of a hurricane). We recommend bringing sunscreen, bug spray, water bottles, mud boots, and a cooler for any goodies you purchase along the way. Most importantly, bring an open mind for adventure and fun!
Children are welcome and encouraged to join the fun, but please leave dogs and other pets at home. These are working farms, and we want to keep everyone safe.
